First Profession of Vows

On August 8, 2026, Sister Azenette Trongco, SP professed the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience for the first time as a Sister of Providence. The celebration was held at Providence Centre Chapel in Edmonton, AB.

Many Sisters of Providence choose not to wear the habit for various reasons, depending mainly on what type of ministry they carry out and the social context they are in. Wearing the habit is an option and by discernment. For Sister Azenette, she discerned early on to wear the habit of the community as a sign of simplicity and poverty, but most importantly, it is her personal way of witnessing to her consecration to God.
